Oh, what a year for Country Music!
Friends, it’s that time again…we’re hopping in our trusty time-machine and setting the dial to 1983! That was the year that both CMT and TNN debuted on the airwaves (within two days of each other)…
Our friend, Little Jimmy Dickens, was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame that year…and a few future country stars were born, including Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood.
Sadly, 1983 would also be the year that the world would suffer the passing of legendary guitar player, singer, and songwriter…Merle Travis.
But the Country hits! Oh My! It was a great year for John Anderson, Mickey Gilley, and The Statler Brothers. Not to mention Conway Twitty, Ricky Skaggs, and Don Williams.
We’re going to be playing as many of the hits as we can squeeze in, and we’ll be having a lot of fun along the way…
So hop into our time-machine, put your feet up, and get ready to experience the best Country Music of 1983!
Have a great week and we’ll see you on the radio!
