Hey y’all!
Our host, Jim Ed Brown, is joined this week by his good friend and Country DJ Hall of Fame Member Tom Perryman. Jim Ed and Tom will swap stories and share some of their favorite songs on this week’s show.
Tom began his radio career in the ’40s at KEBE out of Jacksonville, Texas and is STILL in the business! He went on from there to promote acts including but not limited to: Elvis, Hank Thompson, and our own Jim Ed Brown. He also worked as a DJ at KSIJ out of Gladewater, Texas, from 1949 to 1956.
Tom Perryman was the FIRST regular DJ to have an all-night country show, out of WSM in Nashville, Tennessee. He also became the co-owner (with Jim Reeves) and general manager of KGRI-AM & FM in Henderson, Texas… which was one of the FIRST full-time country stations in the whole US!
